Born John Louis Weingarten on 28 May, 1918, Johnny Wayne grew up in downtown Toronto as the son of a succesful clothing manufacturer. Johnny was the oldest of seven children. His father spoke several languages. There was also an atmoshphere of humor within his family, which is probably where Johnny developed his sense of humor. A family where everyone tried to "top" each in other their ability to tell jokes and be the funniest. This probably explains why Johnny was the funny man to Frank's straight man parts.
