Frank Shuster Tribute
Frank Shuster
5 September, 1916 - 13 January, 2002
Born in Toronto in 1916, Frank Shuster was raised in southern Ontario. He was actually introduced to Charlie Chaplin (and, later, the Marx Brothers) when he was a small boy. He spent a lot of time in the theatre where his father worked as a movie projectionist. While growing up in Windsor he took violin and tap dancing lessons. He wrote his first song, "I'm Hot and Bothered Over You", when he was only 12. His family returned to Toronto in 1930 and Frank enrolled at Harbord College, where he played a leading role in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe. Shuster met Lou Weingarten (later Johnny Wayne) at Harbord's Oola Boola Club and this is where there incredible freindship and their partnership as comedians had it's beginnings.
