To Claire Fairgood: There was a commercially-released video compilation of the 1986 series, called "The Crazy World of Benny Hill." You may want to try the "Used" section of UK Amazon to try to get a copy. Both of those bits (I recall their originating from the March 12, 1986 edition) I seem to remember were in that video.

No, It's Fairgood. I don't realy remember much about my short time on the show. We were all in red and there were quite a few of us. One of the songs, I think, was Girls Girls. The other was Captain Benny. I like to know if my show is out on DVD or Video here in the UK?

Back in 1985 I was working in the distribution department of Thames TV. had met him a few times, but there are 2 meetings that really stick out. One was in makeup and we ended up singing Thank Heavens For Little Girls him as a french guy and me as an indian, the other was over coffee and we were talking about our favorite foods. I left Thames in 1987 and I'm now at CBC Television in Toronto, Canada.

You are quite right about 'Walk on the Wild Side'.
Actually that number was performed by both Love Machine and Hot Gossip in our live acts before being on Kenny's show.

2) Have you heard anything lately about (and what happened to) Terry, from Love Machine - and what was her last name? Sue told me she was "Terry Roberts" but she was called "Terry Lucas" in one sketch.

I was so glad to happen upon your wonderful sight. What started as some quick internet surfing turned into being up most of the night reading throught all the great info and memories. As a 31 year old, here in The United States, I too grew up on Benny Hill (albeit on the edited for American audiences versions). I do remember feeling a real sadness when I read that he had died, as well as a slight anger that his passing got very little attention here. Sad to see that Mr. McGee has also just left us. I agree with someone else's post, that the "Old Guard" is leaving us. Benny's legacy, if nothing else will be evidence that not long ago, men could be men. Keep up the good work. Your site has been added to my favorites.

I'm a 35 year old Brit who grew up with Benny Hill - He was as big a part of my youth as DR WHO and SEASAME STREET (Jenny Lee-Wright was my first crush!!) and his shows were something to genuinely look forward to.

When he was sacked (for the heinous crime of finding women attractive!!!) we all lost something special - The world seems to have gone slowly downhill since Benny (and many of his collegues) where hounded from our screens. Yes it is an over-simplification, but I just don't see the joy for life in comedy today - Thanks for keeping this wonderful man's legacy alive for us.

We've just lost Henry McGee too (Who I met once; What a nice bloke!)- The "old guard" is slowly fading and it's vital we remember them all.

In a recent UK Channel 4 TV show Supposedly chronicalling TV's sexiest glamour queens (or some-such) we were reminded of several recent and present - day females; all of course post femenist and cloned - agressive. I never thought they would get around to the glorious days of the 70s and early 80s ... But they did eventually.
We were treated to Legs & Co., Pan's People, Hot Gossip, and then, right at the end, they started to talk about Hill's Angels being the sexiest of them all .... going on to say that as such, they couldn't show them as there would be "Rioting in the Streets."
I was horrified, but not surprised. Britain is a land void of fun at the moment - political correctness is at the gallop.
Never let this site disappear - an entire British generation has nowhere else to turn for a fix of Benny and Hill's Angelica.

In looking here, and researching elsewhere, I am increasingly worried that I may never see the unsensored version of the wild wild west routine (lady godiva). Does it exist on any available release? The stills are so tantalising in the gallery here... The only versions I can find have the whole poncho taking off bit missing. Any suggestions would be very much apreciated.
Sorry Virginia; I have been searching on line for Benny's poems and lyrics to no avail. I guess it is up to someone to transcribe them eventually.
